Tullow awards TechnipFMC first iEPCI contract offshore Ghana

Oilfield
13-07-2021
TechnipFMC has secured its first integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract with Tullow Oil for the Jubilee South East development offshore Ghana.

The contract covers supply and offshore installation of all major subsea equipment, including manifolds and associated controls, flexible risers and flowlines, umbilicals, and subsea structures.

The company said it had utilized its Subsea Studio digital solutions at the pre-tendering stage to help optimize field layout by improving economics, enhancing performance, and reducing emissions throughout the life of a project.

“We will continue to use our Subsea Studio digital solution to optimize the development, execution, and operation of Jubilee South East”, said Jonathan Landes, president, subsea at TechnipFMC.

“We also see our work on this project as an opportunity to further develop our local content in Ghana, with the fabrication of a number of subsea structures, including production and water injection manifolds, carried out in-country”.

Jubilee South East is an extension to the Jubilee field where Tullow Oil started a multi-year, multi-well drilling campaign in April this year.

The Jubilee field was discovered in 2007 by the Mahogany-1 (M-1) and Hyedua-1 (H-1) exploration wells. It straddles the West Cape Three Points and Deepwater Tano licenses.

In July 2009, the Minister of Energy approved the Phase 1 Plan of Development which included the use of an FPSO with a facility capacity of 120,000 bopd. In December 2010, the field came on-stream.
